Minister: Russia to set up center to resist phone spam, fraud

MOSCOW, Nov 2 (PRIME) -- Russia will set up a center to fight against phone spam, phishing, and cybercrime, and state authorities will test their information systems for vulnerabilities, Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev said on Monday.

“As to war on cybercrime, there are two basic stories. First, we’re starting an independent testing of all state information systems for ‘loops’ in their security so that we’d be sure that risks are at their lowest. Second, we’re creating a large center to fight against phone spam, phishing, and cybercrime,” Shadayev said.

“It means our systems will be safer, and we’ll react in a more targeted and faster manner to all incidents, complaints, when people are called and there is some fraud and the like.”
